I am making a baby blanket for a new addition to our family. It is made out of Blue Sky Alpaca Organic Cotton in the color Bone. This yarn is very soft and does pill a little but is perfect to use for baby gifts. It is washable and knits on a worsted gauge. I picked a pattern from the Debbie Bliss book Simply Baby. I choose the pattern because I like traditional heirloom gifts when it comes to newborns. The cables are classic with a modern look using the garter stitch to cross over the stockinette stitch. I will post finished pictures when I am done. Looking at all of the cute things in this book makes me want to start a line of baby knits. or have a baby.
